Li Tse-Fong (1891–1953) was a notable Hong Kong entrepreneur and politician, co-founding the Bank of East Asia in 1918. Educated at Queen’s College and the University of Hong Kong, he managed family businesses before rising to assistant manager, manager, and lifetime director of the bank. Active in public service, Li was appointed to the Urban Council and Legislative Council until the Japanese occupation in 1941. During World War II, his involvement with Japanese-established councils caused post-war controversy, leading to his exclusion from public office. Despite this, he remained influential in banking and community matters until his death in Nevada in 1953. He supported educational and social causes, with memorials such as the Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui St. Peter’s Church and scholarships in his honor. His descendants upheld his legacy in Hong Kong’s legal and political fields.
