Eminent Rotarians on the Honorary Graduates Roster of Hong Kong Baptist University

Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU), founded in 1956 as Hong Kong Baptist College with American Baptist support, progressed through key stages including its renaming in 1972, public college status in 1983, and university status in 1994. It operates campuses in Kowloon and Sha Tin, and established United International College in Zhuhai, China in 2005, the first higher education partnership between Beijing and Hong Kong universities. Since 1990, HKBU has awarded honorary doctorates to distinguished individuals contributing to academia, Hong Kong, or humanity. Several prominent Hong Kong Rotarians, who served as presidents of various Rotary clubs and Rotary International districts from the 1960s to 1990s, received these honors, recognizing their leadership and community service. Notable recipients include Sir Run Run Shaw, Dr. Hari Naroomal Harilela, and The Honorable Moses Cheng Mo-Chi.
