Dr. The Hon. Sir Rogerio Hyndman Lobo (Hong Kong) 羅保爵士

Dr. The Honourable Sir Rogerio Hyndman Lobo (1923–2015) was a prominent Hong Kong-Macanese businessman, philanthropist, and politician of Portuguese and Scottish heritage. Educated at La Salle College in Hong Kong and the Lyceum in Macao, he joined his family business in 1945 and devoted much of his life to charitable causes. Lobo served on Hong Kong’s Urban Council (1965–1978), Executive Council (1967–1985), and Legislative Council (1972–1985), acting as Senior Unofficial Member from 1980 to 1985. He is best known for the 1984 “Lobo Motion,” advocating for legislative debate on Hong Kong’s future before the Sino-British Joint Declaration. Knighted by Queen Elizabeth II in 1984 and awarded the CBE and OBE, he also chaired the Hong Kong Broadcasting Authority and was a Justice of the Peace. A committed Catholic, Lobo was honoured by the Vatican for his contributions to the Church and Hong Kong society.

Lobo serviu no Conselho Urbano de Hong Kong (1965–1978), no Conselho Executivo (1967–1985) e no Conselho Legislativo (1972–1985), atuando como Membro Não Oficial Sénior de 1980 a 1985. É conhecido pela “Moção Lobo” de 1984, que defendia debate legislativo sobre o futuro de Hong Kong antes da Declaração Conjunta Sino-Britânica. Cavaleiro da rainha Elizabeth II em 1984 e laureado com CBE e OBE, também presidiu à Autoridade de Radiodifusão de Hong Kong e foi Juiz de Paz. Católico dedicado, foi homenageado pelo Vaticano pelas suas contribuições à Igreja e à sociedade de Hong Kong.

羅保爵士（Dr. The Honourable Sir Rogerio Hyndman Lobo，1923–2015）是香港—澳門著名企業家、慈善家及政治家，擁有葡萄牙和蘇格蘭血統。他畢業於香港喇沙書院及澳門文娛中學，於1945年加入家族企業，並積極參與慈善活動。羅保曾任香港市政局議員（1965–1978）、行政局成員（1967–1985）及立法局議員（1972–1985），並於1980年至1985年間擔任資深非官守議員。1984年以「羅保動議」著稱，該動議要求在中英聯合聲明簽署前，立法機關討論香港未來方案。他於1984年獲英女王伊利沙伯二世封爵，並獲授CBE及OBE，曾任香港廣播事務管理局主席及太平紳士。作為虔誠天主教徒，羅保因對教會及香港社會的貢獻獲梵蒂岡表彰。
