Amanda Wen-Lin Ko (1947–2022) was a trailblazing leader in Rotary history in China and Taiwan. She was the first female president of the San Chung South Rotary Club (1989–1991) and the first female District Governor of Rotary International District 3490 (1997–1998), the first woman to hold such a position in Northeast Asia. Ko also served as the first class president of the Rotary Leadership Institute Taiwan branch. Her distinguished service earned her the Rotary Foundation Distinguished Service Award (2005–2006) and the prestigious Rotary International Service Above Self Award (2009–2010). Born in San Chung, Taipei County, she was a five-term Taipei/New Taipei City councilor and an advocate for education, environmental protection, urban planning, firefighting safety, and youth development through the Girl Scouts. Ko passed away in 2022 from bile duct cancer, leaving a significant legacy of community leadership and Rotary dedication.
