Dr. The Honourable Sir Shiu-Kin Tang (1901–1986) was a distinguished Hong Kong entrepreneur and philanthropist. He co-founded the Kowloon Motor Bus Company in 1933 and led it as chairman and chief superintendent for many years. Coming from a wealthy banking family, he managed Tang Tin Fook Bank during the 1930s. Tang devoted himself to public service, chairing major local institutions like Tung Wah Hospital and Po Leung Kuk, and made significant contributions to education, healthcare, and social welfare in Hong Kong. His charitable donations exceeded HK$100 million in historical value, financing many institutions that bear his name, including Tang Shiu Kin Hospital and several schools. He actively participated in community organizations such as the Hong Kong University Court, Urban Council, Red Cross, and Boy Scouts. Knighted by British royalty, Tang received honors like Knight Bachelor and Commander of the Order of the British Empire. His legacy is reflected in more than 40 institutions and landmarks named after him.
