Reginald David Walker (1892–1952) was a British civil engineer and military officer known for his contributions in Hong Kong and Malaya. Educated at London University and Imperial College, he served in World War I as a Royal Engineers officer, earning the Military Cross. After the war, he worked on railways in the Federated Malay States before becoming Acting General Manager and Chief Engineer of the Kowloon-Canton Railway (KCR) in Hong Kong in 1934. Walker played a vital role in maintaining railway operations during the Sino-Japanese War and supported Hong Kong’s World War II defenses. As a major in the Hong Kong Volunteer Defence Corps, he commanded engineering units during the 1941 Battle of Hong Kong, was wounded, and interned until 1945. His legacy includes a KCR locomotive and a street in Hung Hom named in his honor, recognizing his significant impact on railway engineering and colonial defense.
