Dr. Ng Tor-Tai (Kowloon East) 吳多泰博士(九龍東區)

Dr. Ng Tor-Tai (1911–2005) was a distinguished Hong Kong entrepreneur and community leader, best known as the founding president of the Kowloon East Rotary Club during 1970–1971. Originating from Wenchang County, Hainan Province, he earned a civil engineering degree from Guangdong’s SoengKen University (1934–1938), a pioneer of modernist architecture in South China. In 1949, he founded International Hung Hsing Holding Ltd., focusing on Hong Kong real estate investment. Ng held leadership roles in welfare associations, real estate chambers, Tung Wah Group of Hospitals, and the Scout Association. Politically active, he served on the 6th and 7th National Committees of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and the Basic Law Consultative Committee. Committed to philanthropy, he generously supported Hong Kong Baptist University, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and Hainan University. He was awarded an honorary social science doctorate from Hong Kong Baptist University in 1994 and the Bronze Bauhinia Star by the Hong Kong government in 2000.

Dr. Ng Tor-Tai (1911–2005) foi um destacado empreendedor e líder comunitário de Hong Kong, conhecido por ser o presidente fundador do Rotary Club de Kowloon East durante 1970–1971. Nascido no condado de Wenchang, província de Hainan, formou-se em engenharia civil na Universidade SoengKen de Guangdong (1934–1938), pioneira da arquitetura modernista no sul da China. Em 1949, fundou a International Hung Hsing Holding Ltd., focada em investimentos imobiliários em Hong Kong. Ng exerceu cargos de liderança em associações de bem-estar social, câmaras imobiliárias, Tung Wah Group of Hospitals e a Associação de Escoteiros. Politicamente ativo, participou dos 6º e 7º Comitês Nacionais da Conferência Consultiva Política do Povo Chinês e do Comitê Consultivo da Lei Básica. Dedicado à filantropia, apoiou generosamente a Hong Kong Baptist University, a Chinese University of Hong Kong e a Universidade de Hainan. Recebeu um doutorado honorário em ciências sociais da Hong Kong Baptist University em 1994 e a Estrela Bauhinia de Bronze do governo de Hong Kong em 2000.

吳多泰博士（1911–2005）是香港著名企業家及社區領袖，於1970至1971年任九龍東扶輪社創會社長。他原籍海南省文昌縣，畢業於廣東省短暫存在的嶺根大學（土木工程科，1934–1938年），該校推動了華南地區的現代主義建築。1949年，他創立了國際興盛集團有限公司，專注於香港房地產投資。吳博士在多個社區組織擔任領導職務，包括福利協會、房地產商會、東華三院及童軍總會。他政治活躍，曾任第六、七屆中國人民政治協商會議全國委員會委員及基本法諮詢委員會成員。作為慈善家，他支持教育，慷慨捐助香港浸會大學、香港中文大學及海南大學。1994年獲香港浸會大學頒授榮譽社會科學博士，2000年獲香港特區政府授予銅紫荊星章。
