Kowloon East Rotary Club – First 100% Major Donor Club of The Rotary Foundation

In June 2007, the Rotary Club of Kowloon East in Hong Kong became the first club globally to achieve 100% Major Donor status for The Rotary Foundation. This milestone was announced by Trustee Chair Luis Gay during the Rotary International Convention’s Major Donor Dinner in Salt Lake City. Each of the approximately 40 club members donated at least US$10,000, demonstrating remarkable dedication to the Foundation’s mission of “doing good in the world,” a vision set by founder Arch C. Klumph. The recognition event, attended by over 900 Rotarians and guests, honored key members including past president Albert Poon, 2007-08 District 3450 Governor Peter Wong, and 2006-07 president Stephen. This achievement underscores Kowloon East’s leadership and commitment in advancing the Foundation’s goals.
