Hong Kong Island West Rotary Club – CUHK Pre-Employment Workshop 1972

In May 1972, The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) hosted its fourth Pre-Employment Workshop for third- and fourth-year undergraduates at the Shatin campus. Organized by the University’s Appointments Service and generously supported by the Rotary Club of Hong Kong Island West, the event brought together 241 students and 60 community leaders. Vice-Chancellor Choh-Ming Li welcomed the participants, emphasizing the opportunity for students to engage with professionals from diverse sectors—including government, education, marketing, computing, industry, tourism, mass communications, and banking. Rotary Club President Mr. C.M. Wong stressed youth service and career preparation. The workshop featured nine panel discussions, chaired by prominent leaders from various Hong Kong institutions, offering practical guidance and insights into employment opportunities during Hong Kong’s economic growth.

Em maio de 1972, a Universidade Chinesa de Hong Kong (CUHK) realizou o quarto Workshop de Pré-Emprego para estudantes do terceiro e quarto ano no campus de Shatin. Organizado pelo Serviço de Empregos da universidade e com o generoso apoio do Rotary Club de Hong Kong Island West, o evento reuniu 241 estudantes e 60 líderes comunitários. O Vice-Reitor Choh-Ming Li destacou a oportunidade de interação dos alunos com profissionais de diversos setores, incluindo governo, educação, marketing, computação, indústria, turismo, comunicações e banca. O presidente do Rotary, Sr. C.M. Wong, enfatizou o serviço juvenil e a preparação para a carreira. O workshop contou com nove painéis conduzidos por líderes proeminentes de várias instituições de Hong Kong, fornecendo orientações práticas e informações sobre oportunidades de emprego durante o crescimento econômico da região.
