國際扶輪前社長黃其光榮獲外交部頒贈「外交之友貢獻獎章」

Huang Chi-kuang, former president of Rotary International (2014–2015) and the first ethnic Chinese to lead the organization, was awarded the “Friend of Diplomacy Contribution Medal” by Taiwan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs on December 9, 2015. The honor recognized his efforts in public diplomacy, notably promoting Traditional Chinese as one of Rotary International’s nine official languages. Huang also contributed significantly to securing Taipei as the host city for the 2021 Rotary International World Convention, marking Taiwan’s second time hosting since 1994. This achievement boosted Taiwan’s international profile and tourism. Minister Lin Yung-lo praised Huang for uniting Taiwanese Rotarians in global exchanges, strengthening Taiwan’s diplomatic presence. The Ministry emphasized the importance of Rotary and similar organizations in Taiwan’s diplomacy and expressed commitment to further international cooperation.

A honraria reconheceu seus esforços na diplomacia pública, especialmente a promoção do chinês tradicional como uma das nove línguas oficiais da Rotary International. Huang também teve papel fundamental na escolha de Taipei como cidade-sede da Convenção Mundial da Rotary International de 2021, a segunda vez que Taiwan sediou o evento desde 1994, elevando o perfil internacional e o turismo do país. O ministro Lin Yung-lo elogiou Huang por unir os rotarianos taiwaneses nas trocas globais, fortalecendo a presença diplomática de Taiwan. O ministério destacou a importância da Rotary e organizações similares na diplomacia de Taiwan e reafirmou o compromisso de ampliar a cooperação internacional.

黃其光，國際扶輪前社長（2014–2015），首位擔任此職的華裔人士，於2015年12月9日獲台灣外交部頒發「外交之友貢獻獎章」。此獎表彰他在公共外交上的重要貢獻，尤其促成繁體中文成為國際扶輪九大官方語言之一。黃其光亦促成台北獲選為2021年國際扶輪世界大會主辦城市，這是台灣繼1994年後第二度承辦該盛會，提升台灣國際形象及觀光發展。外交部長林永樂讚揚他動員台灣扶輪社友參與全球交流，強化台灣外交存在。外交部強調扶輪等組織在台灣外交中的重要角色，並承諾持續合作，擴大台灣國際參與。
