The Wartime Rotary Club of Kunming (昆明扶輪社) was founded officially in May 1937 amid the turbulence of the Second Sino-Japanese War. Sponsored by the Rotary Club of Nanking (南京扶輪社), this club played an active role in a city transformed into a vital Allied military and industrial hub during World War II. Kunming, capital of Yunnan Province, served as the terminus of the Burma Road and was a base for the American volunteer “Flying Tigers” air force unit. Despite air raids and wartime hardships, the club maintained activities including support for local schools, hospitals, and the Boy Scouts. The club grew to 35 members by 1945, including Chinese, Americans, British, and Dutch nationals. Wartime correspondents frequently praised its leadership and vibrant membership. Following relocation of some members to Taipei, the Rotary Club of Taipei (臺北扶輪社) was established in 1948. The Kunming club was ultimately dissolved in 1950 due to the political changes under the Communist regime.

O Rotary Club de Kunming (昆明扶輪社), fundado oficialmente em maio de 1937, surgiu durante a turbulência da Segunda Guerra Sino-Japonesa. Patrocinado pelo Rotary Club de Nanking (南京扶輪社), esse clube atuou ativamente em uma cidade que se tornou um centro militar e industrial vital para os Aliados durante a Segunda Guerra Mundial.
