The Honourable Shum Choi-Sang (1922–2016), SBS, OBE, JP, was a prominent Hong Kong journalist, publisher, and public servant. Son of Shum Wai-Yau, founder of the Chinese newspaper Wah Kiu Yat Po (華僑日報) in 1925, Shum led the paper for over 40 years, modernizing its printing and editorial practices. Educated at Hong Kong’s King’s College and New York University (MSc Economics, 1953), he chaired several press bodies including the Newspaper Society of Hong Kong. Shum was active in philanthropy through the Wah Kiu Yat Po Fund, benefiting disadvantaged children and educational institutions in Hong Kong and Jiangmen. Appointed Justice of the Peace in 1967, he held roles in the Urban Council, Eastern District Board, and the Basic Law Consultative Committee. He was honored with MBE (1968), OBE (1986), Silver Bauhinia Star (2002), and honorary fellowships from major Hong Kong universities. Under his leadership, Wah Kiu Yat Po documented Hong Kong’s social changes until its closure in 1995.

Filho de Shum Wai-Yau, fundador do jornal chinês Wah Kiu Yat Po (華僑日報) em 1925, Shum liderou o jornal por mais de 40 anos, modernizando suas práticas editoriais e de impressão. Formado no King’s College em Hong Kong e com mestrado em Economia pela New York University (1953), presidiu várias entidades da imprensa, incluindo a Newspaper Society of Hong Kong. 尊敬的岑才生先生(1922–2016),SBS、OBE、JP,是香港著名的新闻工作者、出版家及公共服务者。他是1925年华侨日报(Wah Kiu Yat Po,華僑日報)创办人岑维友的儿子,长期领导该报四十余年,推动印刷和编辑现代化。岑才生毕业于香港英皇书院及纽约大学(1953年经济学硕士),曾任香港报业公会主席等多项传媒重要职务。他通过华侨日报基金积极参与慈善,扶助香港及江门的贫困儿童和教育机构。1967年被委任为太平绅士,先后担任市政局委员、东区区议会主席及基本法咨询委员会委员。其荣誉包括MBE(1968年)、OBE(1986年)、银紫荆星章(2002年)及香港中文大学和香港大学的荣誉院士。在他的领导下,华侨日报见证并记录了香港七十年的社会变迁,直至1995年停刊。
