PDG S. H. Sung 宋常康 – DG 1975-1976

Sheung H. Sung (宋常康, 1917–2018) was a distinguished Christian leader and Rotary International figure. He joined the Hong Kong Rotary Club in 1956, serving as its president from 1967 to 1968. Sung became the 16th district governor of Rotary International District 345 (covering Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau) from 1975 to 1976. Under his leadership, the district expanded to 83 clubs with 3,750 mainly Chinese members, overcoming transportation and language barriers. Charitable giving increased significantly, with nearly one million USD donated to the Rotary Fund by 1978. A lifelong Pentecostal, Sung succeeded his father as supervisor of the Pentecostal Mission in Hong Kong and Kowloon. He balanced his Christian faith with professional training in the UK and in 1973 founded the Song Changkang Global Service Special Fund to support Bible translation and publication worldwide, emphasizing his commitment to spreading the gospel.

As doações aumentaram significativamente, chegando a quase um milhão de dólares para o Fundo Rotary até 1978. Pentecostal de toda a vida, Sung sucedeu seu pai como supervisor da Missão Pentecostal em Hong Kong e Kowloon. Equilibrou sua fé cristã com formação profissional no Reino Unido e, em 1973, fundou o Fundo Especial de Serviço Global Song Changkang para apoiar traduções e publicações da Bíblia mundialmente, destacando seu compromisso com a evangelização.
