You Mi-Kien (游彌堅, 1897–1971), a prominent Taiwanese politician and Rotary leader, significantly contributed to Taiwan’s tourism industry and civic development. He served as Taipei’s mayor from 1946 to 1950 and was instrumental in founding the Rotary Club of Taipei West District in 1954, becoming its first president. Under his leadership, this club became the first worldwide Rotary club to use the Taiwanese language as its official language in 1955. From 1966 to 1967, he served as District Governor of Rotary International District 345, overseeing Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau. Known as the “father of Taiwan’s tourism industry,” Yew pioneered tourism promotion during his tenure as mayor and through the Taiwan Tourism Association, which he helped found and chaired for seven terms. His vision emphasized tourism’s potential to boost Taiwan’s economy and international image. Yew’s enduring legacy is commemorated by the “Mijian Hall” in the Taiwan Tourism Association, honoring his foundational role in the industry.

Foi prefeito de Taipei entre 1946 e 1950 e teve papel fundamental na fundação do Rotary Club do Distrito Oeste de Taipei em 1954, tornando-se seu primeiro presidente.
