Macau Rotary Club outbound-only youth exchange 2017

In 2017, the Macau Rotary Club, certified for outbound-only youth exchanges, partnered with Rotary clubs in Sandbach and Alsager, UK, to offer a short-term cultural exchange. Nine 16-year-old students and two teachers from St. Paul’s School, Macau, traveled to northwest England to join District 1285’s Summer Camp and experience British rural life. Despite a 36-hour delay from a tropical cyclone, participants engaged in countryside visits, home stays, and cultural activities that enhanced their English skills and broadened their cultural perspectives. Coming from densely populated Macau, known for its casinos and urban setting, the students encountered a contrasting rural environment in the UK. The program concluded with a farewell party and sightseeing in London. This successful outbound exchange fostered self-confidence, cross-cultural friendships, and a deeper understanding of diverse lifestyles, showcasing the benefits of Rotary International’s youth exchange initiatives.

Em 2017, o Macau Rotary Club, certificado para intercâmbios juvenis apenas de saída, colaborou com clubes Rotary de Sandbach e Alsager, Reino Unido, para oferecer um programa cultural de curta duração. Nove estudantes de 16 anos e dois professores da St. Paul’s School, Macau, viajaram para o noroeste da Inglaterra para participar do acampamento de verão do Distrito 1285 e vivenciar a vida rural britânica. Apesar de um atraso de 36 horas causado por um ciclone tropical, os participantes participaram de visitas ao campo, estadias em lares e atividades culturais que aprimoraram suas habilidades em inglês e ampliaram suas perspectivas culturais. Vindos do Macau densamente povoado, conhecido por seus cassinos e ambiente urbano, os estudantes experimentaram um ambiente rural contrastante no Reino Unido. O programa terminou com uma festa de despedida e passeios em Londres, demonstrando os benefícios dos intercâmbios juvenis da Rotary International.
