Hong Kong Clubs mark Centennial with Nature Project -2005

In 2005, six Rotary clubs in Hong Kong celebrated their centennial by donating HK$500,000 to renovate the Peter Scott Field Studies Center at Mai Po Nature Reserve. This initiative aimed to advance wetland education by establishing a wetland conservation research institute within the center. The participating clubs were Rotary Clubs of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Island West, Hong Kong Northwest, The Peak, City Northwest Hong Kong, and Mid-Level. Jason Chan, president of The Peak club, highlighted the intention of extending wetland conservation education beyond students to include business leaders, government officials, and engineers. The clubs collaborated on fundraising and contributed manual labor, drawing on the expertise of Rotarian structural engineers and designers.
