Bos was a prominent advocate for international understanding and peace, writing articles for The Rotarian magazine and speaking at the 23rd Rotary International Convention in 1932 in Seattle on issues such as trade barriers, disarmament, and cultural cooperation. During the 1932 Shanghai Incident (一·二八事變), he urged Rotarians to maintain goodwill amidst conflict.
