75th Anniversary of Taipei Rotary Club – 台北扶輪社授證七十五週年

In 2023, the Taipei Rotary Club celebrated its 75th anniversary with a gala on November 25 at the Shangri-La Hotel, Taipei. The club, founded in February 1948 as Taiwan’s first Rotary Club, was officially chartered on October 9, 1948, at the Taipei Guest House. Its first president was Yen Chia-kan, who later became the fifth president of the Republic of China. The event was attended by Stephanie Urchick, Rotary International president-elect for 2024–25; past RI president Gary Huang and his wife Corinna; District 3481 governor Jennifer; and 82 representatives from sister clubs across Asia. The club has significantly influenced Rotary’s development in Taiwan, including Huang Chih-kuang’s Rotary International presidency in 2014–15. Under current president Shirley, it continues to grow in membership and service while emphasizing diversity, equity, and inclusion. As the club approaches its centennial, it seeks to strengthen humanitarian efforts in collaboration with Rotary International and Taiwan’s Rotary network.

Em 2023, o Rotary Club de Taipei celebrou seu 75º aniversário com um jantar de gala no dia 25 de novembro no Hotel Shangri-La, em Taipei. Fundado em fevereiro de 1948 como o primeiro Rotary Club de Taiwan, foi oficialmente constituído em 9 de outubro de 1948, na Taipei Guest House. Seu primeiro presidente foi Yen Chia-kan, que posteriormente se tornou o quinto presidente da República da China. O evento contou com a presença de Stephanie Urchick, presidente eleita do Rotary Internacional para 2024–25; o ex-presidente do RI Gary Huang e sua esposa Corinna; a governadora do Distrito 3481, Jennifer; e 82 representantes de clubes-irmãos de toda a Ásia.
