國際扶輪2014-2015年度社長黃其光博士十週年回顧與展望

Dr. Gary Huang Qi-Guang served as Rotary International President during 2014–2015, marking the first time an ethnic Chinese led the organization in its 120-year history. He joined Rotary in 1975 and quickly rose through leadership, becoming the youngest president of the Taipei Rotary Club (1982–83) and District 345 Governor (Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau) in 1986–87, where he helped found 19 clubs. Huang later served as Rotary International Vice President (2001–02) and on the Rotary Foundation Board before his presidency. His “Light Up Rotary” theme focused on global fellowship and membership growth, increasing the global count to 1.235 million and Taiwan’s by 14,000. He championed cultural inclusiveness by designating Chinese as an official Rotary language and starting clubs in mainland China. Huang’s activism included endurance cycling for the End Polio campaign. His contributions are commemorated by a museum in Taiwan, inspiring future leaders to uphold Rotary’s mission with passion and perseverance.
