Yeh Ming-Hsun – 葉明勳

Ye Mingxun (葉明勳, 1913–2009) was a prominent Chinese journalist and senior official in the Presidential Office of the Republic of China. Born in Pucheng County, Fujian, he excelled in both traditional and Christian education, mastering English and Chinese. After graduating from Fujian Christian University with a thesis on public opinion formation, Ye began his journalism career at the Central News Agency during the Second Sino-Japanese War. He was a founding member of the Fuzhou Rotary Club in 1933 and joined Taipei Rotary Club—the first postwar Rotary in Taiwan—in 1948. Ye witnessed the growth of Rotary International in Taiwan, including the creation of Districts 345 and 348 through 1987. After Japan’s 1945 defeat, he was among the first Taiwanese officials helping transition governance from Japanese occupation to the Republic of China. Throughout his life, Ye remained dedicated to Rotary and Taiwan’s journalism community, despite relocating away from Taipei.

Ye Mingxun (葉明勳, 1913–2009) foi um destacado jornalista chinês e alto funcionário do Gabinete Presidencial da República da China. Nascido no Condado de Pucheng, Fujian, recebeu educação tradicional e cristã, dominando inglês e chinês. Após graduar-se na Universidade Cristã de Fujian com uma tese sobre a formação da opinião pública, Ye iniciou sua carreira no jornalismo na Central News Agency durante a Segunda Guerra Sino-Japonesa. Foi membro fundador do Rotary Club de Fuzhou em 1933 e ingressou no Rotary Club de Taipei em 1948, o primeiro clube Rotary no pós-guerra em Taiwan. Ye acompanhou o crescimento do Rotary Internacional em Taiwan, incluindo a criação dos Distritos 345 e 348 até 1987.
