Reverend Dr. Andrew Ben Loo (Taipei North) 盧祺沃牧師(台北北區)

Reverend Dr. Andrew Ben Loo (盧祺沃), born in 1913 in New York City and originally from Shunde County, Guangdong, was a distinguished religious and educational leader. He studied at various institutions including Guangzhou Peizheng Middle School, Peking Huiwen Middle School, Missouri State University, Northwestern University Chicago, Kancheng Bible University, Philadelphia Oriental University, and Columbia University, earning doctorates in theology and music education. He served as music director at Beiping Yuying Middle School and pastor of Chinese churches in Boston, Chicago, San Francisco, and New York City. After moving to Taiwan in 1949, he became a professor at Taiwan Zhongyuan Institute of Technology, council member of the Bible Society, chairman of the Evangelical Society, and pastor of Taipei Shilin Kaige Church from 1956. In 1959, he founded the Rotary Club of Taipei North District and served as Rotary International regional director (345) from 1968 to 1969, overseeing Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau. He was also a correspondent for the US publication Action Monthly.
