Dr. The Hon. Sir M. K. Lo (羅文錦爵士) – Co-founder and First President of Asian Football Confederation

Dr. The Honourable Sir Man-Kam Lo (羅文錦爵士, 1893–1959) was a prominent Eurasian solicitor, community leader, and sports patron in Hong Kong. He served as President of the Rotary Club of Hong Kong in 1934–1935. An avid football enthusiast, Lo was Vice President (1939) and President (1953–1954) of the Hong Kong Football Association. In 1954, he co-founded the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) and was its first President, elected during the Second Asian Games in Manila with 12 founding Asian members. The AFC governs football in Asia and Australia under FIFA and organizes premier tournaments like the Asian Cup. Lo also significantly contributed to sports infrastructure, securing land for the South China AA Football Stadium (Caroline Hill Stadium). Beyond sports, he played key roles in Hong Kong’s legal, political, and social spheres, including membership on the Legislative and Executive Councils. He was knighted in 1948 and awarded an honorary Doctor of Laws degree by the University of Hong Kong in 1951. Lo passed away in 1959.

Serviu como presidente do Rotary Club de Hong Kong em 1934–1935. Apaixonado por futebol, Lo foi vice-presidente (1939) e presidente (1953–1954) da Associação de Futebol de Hong Kong. Em 1954, cofundou a Confederação Asiática de Futebol (AFC) e foi seu primeiro presidente, eleito durante os Jogos Asiáticos em Manila, com 12 membros fundadores asiáticos. A AFC governa o futebol na Ásia e Austrália sob a FIFA e organiza torneios de destaque como a Copa Asiática. Lo também contribuiu para a infraestrutura esportiva, assegurando o terreno do Estádio Caroline Hill. Além do esporte, teve papel chave nas áreas jurídica, política e social de Hong Kong, incluindo participação nos Conselhos Legislativo e Executivo. Foi nomeado cavaleiro em 1948 e recebeu o doutorado honorário pela Universidade de Hong Kong em 1951. Faleceu em 1959.

羅文錦爵士（Dr. The Honourable Sir Man-Kam Lo，1893–1959）是香港著名的歐亞裔律師、社會領袖及體育贊助人。他於1934年至1935年擔任香港扶輪社社長。羅爵士熱愛足球，曾任香港足球總會副會長（1939年）及會長（1953–1954年）。1954年，他聯合創立亞洲足球聯合會（AFC），並在第二屆亞洲運動會期間於馬尼拉當選為首任會長，創始會員包括12個亞洲地區足球總會。亞足聯在國際足協（FIFA）架構下管理亞洲及澳洲足球，主辦亞洲盃等重要賽事。羅爵士亦對香港足球設施貢獻卓著，成功爭取南華會足球場（加路連山球場）用地。除體育外，他在香港法律、政治及社會領域皆具重要影響，曾任立法局及行政局議員。1948年獲授爵士稱號，1951年獲香港大學榮譽法學博士學位，1959年逝世。
