Dr. The Honourable Lo Kwee-Seong (1910–1995), known as the “Father of Vitasoy,” was a pioneering entrepreneur and public servant in Hong Kong. Born in Guangdong, he graduated from the University of Hong Kong in 1935. Inspired by a 1937 lecture in Shanghai, he began producing soy milk in 1940 to help malnourished refugees and lactose-intolerant people. After wartime setbacks, he founded Hong Kong Soya Bean Products Co., Ltd., growing Vitasoy into a leading beverage brand using innovative sterilization and packaging methods. Lo served on Hong Kong’s Urban and Legislative Councils and chaired the Consumer Council (1975–1980), promoting consumer protection. A collector and scholar of Chinese ceramics, he donated his collection to the Flagstaff House Museum of Tea Ware and fostered Chinese tea culture. He received the OBE in 1971, CBE in 1978, and an honorary Doctor of Laws from HKU in 1982. His contributions remain influential in education and culture in Hong Kong.

Nascido em Guangdong, formou-se na Universidade de Hong Kong em 1935. Inspirado por uma palestra em Xangai em 1937, começou a produzir leite de soja em 1940 para ajudar refugiados desnutridos e pessoas intolerantes à lactose. Após dificuldades na guerra, fundou a Hong Kong Soya Bean Products Co., Ltd., desenvolvendo a Vitasoy numa marca líder de bebidas com métodos inovadores de esterilização e embalagem. 羅桂祥博士（1910–1995），被譽為「維他奶之父」，是香港的先驅企業家和公共服務者。他出生於廣東，1935年畢業於香港大學。受1937年上海一場關於黃豆的講座啟發，1940年開始生產豆奶，為營養不良的難民和乳糖不耐症人士提供替代飲品。戰時遭遇挫折後，他創立香港豆品公司（Hong Kong Soya Bean Products Co., Ltd.），靠創新的殺菌及包裝技術將維他奶發展為主要飲品品牌。羅博士曾任香港市政局及立法局議員，並於1975至1980年擔任消費者委員會主席，推動消費者保障。他是中國陶瓷的收藏家和學者，並將其珍藏捐贈給港府的茶具文物館，推廣中國茶文化。羅氏於1971年獲OBE，1978年獲CBE，1982年獲香港大學榮譽法學博士學位。他的貢獻在香港教育與文化界持續發揮影響力。
