Chinese stamps salute to 60th Anniversary of Rotary International

In 1965, the 60th Anniversary of Rotary International was honored with special postage stamps issued by the Republic of China (Taiwan) and Luxembourg. On February 23, Taiwan released three stamps valued at NT$1.5, NT$2, and NT$2.5, featuring a Rotary wheel and a tightly coiled spring symbolizing readiness for action. This was achieved through the efforts of District Governor Chang Shen-Fu of District 345. Later, on April 5, Luxembourg issued a 3-franc stamp depicting a Rotary wheel interconnected with multiple gears. The Rotary Club of Luxembourg proposed the stamp and sponsored first-day cover sales, donating the net proceeds to The Rotary Foundation. These commemorative stamps were celebrated by Rotary philatelists worldwide as a tribute to Rotary’s global impact.

Em 1965, o 60º aniversário do Rotary International foi comemorado com selos postais especiais emitidos pela República da China (Taiwan) e Luxemburgo. Em 23 de fevereiro, Taiwan lançou três selos com valores de NT$1,5, NT$2 e NT$2,5, apresentando uma roda do Rotary e uma mola enrolada simbolizando prontidão para a ação. Isso ocorreu graças aos esforços do Governador de Distrito Chang Shen-Fu, do Distrito 345.
