Dr. Chengting Thomas Wang (王正廷, 1882–1961) was a key Chinese politician, diplomat, and sports leader who served as president of the National Red Cross Society of China from 1934 to 1943, during the Second Sino-Japanese War. As a pioneer of Chinese sports and the Olympic movement, Wang was also a respected Rotary leader with several international roles. His leadership saw the Red Cross implement nationwide membership campaigns, coordinate relief in conflict areas like Suiyuan, and ensure fundraising transparency. In 1938, he founded the Chinese Red Cross Medical Relief Corps, enhancing medical support across provinces. Wang remained committed to humanitarian work despite political turmoil until his death. The Red Cross Society he led originated in early 20th-century Shanghai, evolving through Republican and Taiwanese periods while navigating complex international challenges.

Pioneiro do esporte chinês e do movimento olímpico, Wang também foi líder respeitado no Rotary, ocupando cargos internacionais. Sob sua liderança, a Cruz Vermelha promoveu campanhas nacionais de associação, coordenou ajuda em áreas de conflito como Suiyuan e garantiu transparência em captações de recursos.
