Dr. Arthur W. Woo (1888–1964), a distinguished obstetrician and gynecologist from Hong Kong, was a key figure in the region’s Rotary history. He co-founded the Hong Kong Rotary Club in 1930 and served as its president in 1940–1941. After World War II, Woo revitalized the Club in November 1945 post-Japanese occupation and led its readmission to Rotary International in April 1946 amid Hong Kong’s rapid postwar population growth and social challenges. He founded Rotary clubs in Macau (1947) and Kowloon (1948), and served as Rotary International’s Administrative Advisor (1951–1952) for clubs across Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, and mainland China. Educated in England and the U.S., Woo was a Hong Kong University medical lecturer and invented the Reverdin-Woo surgical needle. Honored with the O.B.E. by Queen Elizabeth II, he was a respected community and medical leader in Hong Kong.

胡惠德醫生（1888–1964）是香港著名的婦產科醫生和醫療宣教士，也是地區扶輪歷史上的重要人物。他於1930年創立香港扶輪社，並於1940至1941年間擔任社長。二戰結束後，胡醫生於1945年11月戰後復興扶輪社，並於1946年4月帶領社團重新加入國際扶輪，面對香港戰後人口急劇增長和社會挑戰。他先後於1947年成立澳門扶輪社，1948年成立九龍扶輪社，並於1951至1952年間擔任國際扶輪的行政顧問，主管香港、澳門、台灣及中國大陸多個扶輪社。胡醫生曾在英國與美國深造，為香港大學醫學講師，並設計了Reverdin-Woo手術針。因其卓越貢獻，獲英女王伊利沙伯二世授予OBE勳章，是香港醫學及社區的領袖人物。
