Ir. Dr. Joseph Chow Ming-Kuen, OBE, JP (1941–2018), was a leading Hong Kong civil and structural engineer, known for his nearly 50 years of work on major infrastructure and building projects locally and abroad. A University of Hong Kong Engineering graduate (1964), he founded JMK Consulting Engineers in 1992 and served as President of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (2001–2002). Chow also held key public roles, including chairman of regulatory bodies, and was a strong advocate for education as Founding President of the HKU Engineering Alumni Association and Court Member of HKU. Awarded an Honorary University Fellowship in 2013, he was appointed Justice of the Peace in 1992 and received an OBE in 1997. He was married to Selina Chow Liang Shuk-Yee, a noted politician. Chow passed away in Hong Kong on 13 October 2018 after battling lung cancer, at age 77.
